IIe Time Machine

by David Sturtz

I’ve been playing with the OSXII Apple 2 emulator. It’s up and running, and I rocked through a round of Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego last night (comprehensive FAQ on the game).

As soon as it booted up I was transported back twenty years (seriously, twenty?). I apparently spent vastly more time than I remember chasing Carmen, messing around in PrintShop, and typing my book reports in AppleWorks v. 2, among other nerdy pursuits.

The most nostalgic part was having to “insert side B and press spacebar”. It seemed so natural and bizarre at the same time.
